If you are a loyal Apple fan or a loyal Android fan, the title of this blog post likely surprised you. Why on earth would anyone give praise to the opposing team? Most Android loyalists are quick to tout their devices as being more flexible and customizable while Apple loyalists are quick to tout how easy and high quality their devices are.
Well, I myself am an Android loyalist, but let me explain why I have one compliment to give Apple. Back in 2007, before I owned my first Android smartphone and was ever an Android fan, I purchased an iPod Nano. It was the little square one (third generation), and I loved the fact that I could carry around with me every song in my ownership. Now here is the kicker: we are in 2014, I still use the iPod on a regular basis, and it still functions perfectly fine to this day.
That is why I have a nice compliment to pay Apple. I paid about $150 for a device that has lasted me 7 years of use and shows no signs of stopping. How many people can say they have used the same phone or MP3 player for the past 7 years? Although I would never purchase another Apple device, I can testify that Apple did indeed produce high quality durable products back in 2007.
